Scalp Micro-pigmentation or SMP (as it is commonly known) is not just a tattoo for the scalp, but a highly specialized process by which tiny deposits of pigment are positioned within the dermal layer of the skin. When applied properly by a skilled practitioner, these deposits replicate the look of a five o'clock shadow or will add the appearance of density to longer hair.

Who is the ideal candidate for Scalp Micro-pigmentation?
- Anyone that is facing some form of thinning and would like to create a fuller looking scalp.
- This will replace hair powders and sprays permanently.
- If you have had an undesired SMP Procedure seeking help to fix or blend mistakes made by other technicians. Every correction is different but I can work with you step by step to make sure you are happy with the results. *some may require Tattoo Laser Removal)
- If your suffering from Alopecia.
- SMP can work great for both Male and Females suffering from hair loss.
Will it look real and natural?
SMP will look real when it is done properly and under the right conditions. After looking at the your hair loss situation its easy to determine whether or not SMP will be effective for you.
What is the size of the needle?
The needles are the smallest on the market. My needles makes impressions the size of a small pin. With the naked eye, it is impossible to differentiate between a follicle made with my needle and an actual hair follicle. I have a few different sizes to match each size of follicle. From the smallest for the clients that are fair skin toned with lighter hair, they usually have the smallest follicle to darker skin toned with dark hair, they usually have larger hair follicles.
Does Scalp Micro-pigmentation hurt?
The honest answer is the SMP can be uncomfortable. Some describe it as painful but some say it feels like a tickle. For this reason, it's impossible to predict how much discomfort a particular individual will experience during the procedure as pain tolerance varies with each individual. I have had a lot of clients fall asleep during a procedure.
How long does the treatment take?
Typically 3-4 hours per session. It may take up to 3 sessions for the final result. A final touch up session may or may not be required. That will be determined after your scalp has completely healed.
How many days am I required to wait between sessions? / How long does the scalp take to fully heal?
I recommend waiting 10 days to fully heal before doing your next session. If you have had a hair transplant, I recommend a healing time of at least 14 days. As scar tissue does heal differently.
How long until I can...
Wash / wet my hair? 4 days of no heavy sweating or washing the scalp
Shave my head? 6-7 days
Workout? First couple of days you can do light workouts, nothing that will make you sweat.
Wear a hat? You may wear a hat immediately after the treatment, make sure the hat is not rubbing on the treatment site.
Go outside without sunblock? It is highly recommended, after you have completely healed, to always wear sunblock.
Will the pigment fade or change colour?
I use a specially formulated Carbon based pigment that has no blue or red undertones. There is absolutely no risk of the colour of the pigment turning blue, green or red over time. As with all permanent makeup, fading will occur as your skin ages.
Does my hair colour matter?
Yes it does, but I custom mix colours to match.
Do I need to shave my head before the procedure?
If you are coming in for a density build no, there is no need to shave your scalp for the procedure. However there is an ideal length which we can discuss during your consultation.
If you are looking to create a new / lower hairline then you may have to shave your scalp. Or if you don't have enough hair to camouflage the SMP. We can discuss the right path for you at the consultation.
What is the Cost?
The cost will vary in each individual case. From scar concealment to fully bald or thinning scalp. Please feel free to visit the Pricing page and if you have any other questions please fell free to text or call me

Final thought to leave with you...
Just like every creative art form, each artist has a unique method to achieve their final looks. Please take your time to interview each artist in your area, see lots of their before and after photos (make sure you see some healed results, as all photos taken after a session look amazing). Each of us have a look that we like to do, for example I love to blend the top to the sides and back. I will do darker on top if client requests. But I do gravitate towards undetectable blend.
This is your scalp and you should choose the artist that best aligns with your desired goals.
